What is Friends of Texarkana Parks?
The Friends of Texarkana Parks is a non-profit 501© 3 volunteer group interested in preserving, developing and maintaining parks in Texarkana. This group is also interested in expanding recreational opportunities for Texarkana and surrounding communities.

What is the Friends Group Role?
The Friends of Texarkana Parks work in conjunction with the City of Texarkana, Texas Parks & Recreation Department in its efforts to provide and operate area Parks & Recreation facilities. The Friends Group strives to inform the public of recreation opportunities and available park facilities.
The Friends Group supports the Parks & Recreation Department in the effort by:

  • Assisting park staff with planning and implementing special events and fund raisers.
  • Preserving, enhancing and providing safe parks and recreation opportunities for the citizens of Texarkana and surrounding areas.
  • Providing volunteers to instruct recreational classes
  • Holding meetings to inform the public on activities and special projects that the friends group is working on.

How can I Get Involved?
As a member, your participation has no limits, your ideas and suggestions are welcomed, as well as your help. Membership is open to anyone interested in improving the Parks and Recreation opportunities in Texarkana.
